Customer Testimonials
Dear Pixius Communications:
I have been a Pixius subscriber for several years now. I wanted to share our experience re: what your broadband service has meant for us.
We live on a farm about 30 minutes outside of Wichita, Kan. I had been working a full-time job in Wichita until our first child was born, 10 years ago. I was fortunate to then be able to telecommute, continuing my career as a freelance writer and with a public relations agency. Most importantly, I was able to balance work and family.
At the time, I was on a dial-up connection. It worked fine — then. However, I soon needed to stay connected online to large databases and accounting programs as well as be able to transmit large files. I also do significant web research, which was difficult with a slow, dial-up connection. I needed a high-speed, always-on connection, one that I could afford.
Pixius was the only option for us, and remains the best option.
I have been able to advance in my career, even becoming vice president of the PR agency. My husband and I also own a portrait photography business. We have been able to grow our photography business, again with the capability to transmit large files, maintain a web site, etc.
I feel very fortunate to be able to balance my career with my commitment to my family. Your affordable broadband service has helped make that possible.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
L. Woolf
In education, the Internet presents the opportunity for the sharing of resources and ideas with people that have the same interest. It provides access to reference materials, i.e. every major newspaper in the world and offers an opportunity for students to develop independent learning and research skills.
However, if students, parents and teachers do not have access to quality broadband Internet service, they are at a disadvantage in a competitive world. Access tends to level the playing field between rural and urban education.
The Cherokee School District has realized many of the gains that are associated with incorporating the Internet into the education process. The district’s service is provided by Pixius Communications.

Few things have had a bigger impact on our daily lives than the personal computer and broadband access to the Internet. Many Americans work with a PC everyday and computers are present in most every classroom in the country.
The introduction of the PC and broadband Internet into the learning environment has shown that the Internet is a time saving tool for a teacher that expands the possibilities for curriculum development. It gives students access to the latest information on government and non-government web sites. Collaborative projects can be designed to enhance students’ literacy skills, mainly through email messaging with their peers from other schools or even other countries. Collaborative projects are also useful for engaging students and providing meaningful learning experiences. In this way, the Internet becomes an effective means of advancing intercultural understanding.
Our school receives broadband Internet service from Pixius Communications. This service has allowed the school district to realize many of the educational gains outlined above.

Since introducing the Internet into the learning environment, we have learned that the Internet is a time-efficient tool for a teacher that expands the possibilities for curriculum development. The Internet is a huge repository of learning material. It gives students access to the latest reports on government and non-government websites, including research results, scientific and artistic resources in museums and art galleries, and other organizations with information applicable to student learning. At secondary schooling levels, the Internet can be used for undertaking reasonably sophisticated research projects.

We would like to thank Pixius Communications for providing us, Reno County Fire District #8, with Broadband Internet service. We are located in rural Kansas near Hutchinson. High speed Internet is an integral part of keeping in touch with our community and other departments. It allows us to run application that protect and serve our communities.
There are many critical purposes for high speed Internet in Public Safety and Homeland Security in rural Kansas. We use the Internet to send reports to the State Fire Marshal’s Office to report our statistics for a national report. We also use it to purchase merchandise to keep our equipment updated. Another use of high speed Internet is to stay current with life saving techniques, standards and practices in firefighting. One of the most important uses of our Pixius service is online training. Our firefighters are required to be certified. We offer these courses online at the station. The required training and courses would not be available to us without Broadband Internet.
Without the help of Pixius Communications and their high speed Internet, we would not be able to run our department as effectively. We truly appreciate what Pixius Communications has done for our department.
